Pastor and Staff

The Rev. Jeffrey Horn has served Christ and His church as a pastor for over 20 years. He grew up in Chatsworth, CA and graduated from Concordia University Irvine in 1991. He earned a Master of Divinity from Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne in 1996, and a Master of Sacred Theology from the same in 2010. Over the years, he has served as pastor at Mount Olive in Pasadena, CA and at Zion in Garrett, Indiana. From 2012-2014, he was called to serve as a missionary to Papua New Guinea. He served as Theological Educator to our partner church body, teaching at Timothy Lutheran Seminary in the remote Highlands, and traveling the country to preach and teach. Pastor Horn and his family returned to the United States in 2015, and was installed at Gloria Dei on June 7, 2015.

Pastor Horn is married to Lora. They have two children, Chris and Maggie, and one granddaughter.

Blane Abernathy is our music director and organist.  He is married to Christine and has two sons.

Michelle became secretary for Gloria Dei in 2019.  She is a wife to Matt and mother to 3 children.  She loves to be outdoors working in her garden, playing tag with her kids, and  going for walks with her dog, Bruce.  She enjoys cooking (especially the eating part), reading historical fiction, working on DIY projects around the house and spending time with family and friends.
