Our Divine Services are Sundays at 9:00am and Wednesdays at 12:00 noon. We use the hymnal, Lutheran Service Book, for hymns and orders of service, and we also have the full service printed in bulletins. Our Sunday Divine Services last a little more than an hour, with fellowship time with snacks and coffee following service. We have a cry room in the back of the Sanctuary for the little ones who need it, but we encourage you to stay in the sanctuary with us as much as possible, so the little ones can hear God’s Word as well. The voices of children are a joy to God and to us.
Gloria Dei has a loop induction system for those who are hearing impaired. Simply turn your loop-compatible hearing aid to “T” or telephone mode, and you will hear audio directly from our sound system into your ears.
You may find out more about the elements of the liturgical service here at this LCMS website. The liturgy is based in the historical practice of the church, which is deeply rooted in God’s Word. You will find much of the liturgy to be based on the dialogue between God and His people in the Bible. God speaks comfort, forgiveness, mercy, and love to us through His Son, Jesus Christ, and we speak back to Him our words of thanksgiving and praise.
The Lord’s Supper is at the center of every regular worship service at Gloria Dei. We believe that Christ’s Body and Blood is truly present in, with, and under the bread and wine, infusing us with His forgiveness and grace. Our communion practice is printed in the bulletins and pew cards. If you have not yet communed with us, please talk to Pastor Horn before communing.
Sunday School and Adult Bible class starts at 10:30am after fellowship/snack time. One of the Sunday school teachers will be happy to bring your child over to Sunday school in the Family Life Center, and you are welcome to come along as well. The children usually have 10-15 minutes of music time with our music teacher and then a lesson with our Sunday School teachers.
